Goodbye for 2014-15

And so Year 3 of Blog Club draws to a close. At times we had over 20, but by the last day we were down to our core 10 bloggers who had been coming in most of the year. In a few cases, they'd been coming in for several years.

Today we bid a fond farewell to two eighth graders, CrossbowPig and Detox Pig. Both joined in sixth grade and were charter members of the Blog Club, together writing the blog's weekly slew of "hate mail." CrossbowPig even gave us our blog's name -- RAUC Talk. Good luck in high school, fellas!

We had many sixth graders to start the year, but by the end it was just Detox's brother CyborgDemon. Most of the club were seventh grade girls: subsonicpupet, the Master of Everything, and lizardsnicksnape giggling in one corner, American Rebel and CingerBread in another (usually joined by texiieee) being seventh grade girls, and twin sisters Juliana F & Caitlin F keepin' it real in the hallway.

People seemed to enjoy themselves, whether it was for the camaraderie, the goldifsh crackers, or Mr. Tobin's controversial choices in musical selection (horrible bands like Nirvana, Radiohead, and the Beatles). The blog hit its 500th post this term, and aside from our beloved Pigs, everyone conceivably could be back next year.

So until we meet again, have a good summer, and blog on!

Google dreams 2

A while ago, I did this thing were I wrote down these weird dreams that had and then I googled them to see if anything funny came up. I thought that was really fun and since it is the last post of the year I am going to it again.

The dream: Amy Poehler is my mom the sharks are family.
Summary: I was on a boat and I had like 12 siblings, and Amy Poehler was my mom. Then Loki came and he stole my "mom" and flipped over the boat. Then the sharks took us in as their wild children.
What came up:
We are totally related.

Dream:Smurfin' up the sun
Summary:I was on the beach and these smurfs came and gangster smurf told me that this was their turf, the smurf turf. He kicked me up to the sun. But derp smurf was in my pocket so peasant/beggar smurf had to come and save us. Then, we went to a Jay-Z concert. East side for life .
My people:
Can I be best friends with them?
Dream: The toilet is my home. Squidward is my spirit.
Summary: I was lost in the streets of the city, so I went to the bathroom. In shame, I stuck my head in the toilet and sang songs that Beyonce sings. But then I saw a calming, shimmering, blue light. It spoke with a familiar voice... Squidward. "Come my child," he spoke softly. "Your home." And at that moment, I knew, my inner spirit was calling.
What came up:
My, soul, my heart, my spirit. Squidward.

Cheryl's Birthday

Maybe you've heard of a math problem out of Singapore (meant for elementary students), which people in other countries have been going crazy about online. Some say it's impossible, but there's way to solve it, and understand it. The question is:
Albert and Bernard just met Cheryl, and they don't know her birthday. She gives them a list of ten dates, one of them being her real birthday;
  • May 15
  • May 16
  • May 19
  • June 17
  • June 18
  • July 14
  • July 16
  • August 14
  • August 15
  • August 17
Then, Cheryl tells Albert the month, and Bernard the date, and they don't share the information with each other. Albert says he doesn't know Cheryl's birthday, but he knows that Bernard doesn't know either. Bernard didn't know either at first, but because Albert can't figure out Cheryl's birthday, Bernard can. And when Albert finds out that Bernard knows, he too figures it out. So, when is Cheryl's birthday, based on their conversation?
It seems impossible to figure out the date and month, when you don't know either. If they both guess different dates, there's a 20% chance one of them will be right, but, there's a way to figure out for sure when Cheryl's birthday is:

Bernard, who was told the date, could not figure it out at first, which means that he was not told a date that only occurs once in the list. Using this, we can rule out the 19th (Of May) and the 18th (Of June). Albert knows that Bernard won't know at first, meaning that he definitely wasn't told a month containing one of the dates that only appear once, because or else. Bernard might have been told that date and have known for sure. This means that Albert wasn't told the months of May or June, leaving July and August.
So now, Bernard has figured out the date entirely out of August 14th, 15th or 17th, or July 14th and 16th. Since he knows the birthday, it isn't on the 14th. This is because the 14th is the only day that applies to both of the months, and if he had been told this, he would have been stuck between the two months.
Now, we're at August 15th or 17th, or July 16th. Keep in mind that Albert also knows this.
Since Albert eventually figures it out based on this and the month he is told, he wasn't told the month of August, or else he'd be stuck between the 15th and 17th.
So, Cheryl's birthday could only be July 16th.

It takes a few times, or twenty, to understand completely, but you'll get it eventually.

See ya next year!

Last blog.
Last ideas.
Until next year of course...
Over my time in blog, I've learned that you should always bring headphones because the teacher always likes to play his music. Currently he's playing pretty awesome music. Nirvana Unplugged. I recommend it!

Recently I've been watching some pretty interesting movies. I've watched Back to the Future with some people from school, and I've watch the majority of the second one, ( only had 30 minutes left).
With the first one I found it a mix of funny, boring, and predictable. But overall a really great movie.
With the second one I remember in the movie they traveled to 2015.
Flying cars
Flying everything
It was quite an adventure, and I hope won't happen here soon.
Finding a good movie is sometimes impossible, and so is finding a good book.
Currently I'm reading "Looking for Alaska" by John Green.
So far I'm about over 100 pages in and I find it quite good. Once I finish it I'll see if I have any effort to blog about it.

So till next year, goodbye!

What do you think Blog taught you this year?

To me when I blogged I felt like I could write anything and that I could speak up. I think to me blog was a way in general to write about what is going on in life or just to write an article. I think that blog was really fun!!!! And it taught me to be able to get out of my comfort zone and speak about what is happening.

To me this is the reason blog was fun this year and here is some of answers to the question " What did Blog teach you this year?" from some of the bloggers:

Names:                                                         What did it teach them:
Lamisha-                                                       It taught her how to blog                                                     Cindya-                                                         It taught her how to blog
Larisa-                                                          It taught her how to relax in life
Tori-                                                             It taught her the true art of Mitt Romney tiny faces
Albatool-                                                      It taught her how to write random things instead of game rating reviews

Some pretty cool websites (and other stuff)

My time on the internet has shown that it is a pretty weird, but also a pretty cool place. To honor the cooler side, here are some of the websites that you can access easily and are unblocked at school (my school at least).

1. Mrdoob.com http://mrdoob.com/
This is one of many of the cool things on his/her website that you can look at and mess with. Some of the ones I recommend is Google gravity or space, winning solitaire, and branching. Feel free to explore all of the awesome stuff on the website.

2. Various unblocked games websites (for school purposes).

At school, almost every game website you can think of is blocked. Not these websites. They usually have some cool games, but most of them are clones or are just straight up bad. Some of them are blocked as well, but just keep looking and you'll eventually find one.

3. Reddit reddit.com

Reddit is a cool place to check out current news, cute cats/puppies, be updated on your favorite thing, whether it be a game, a TV show, etc., and more. There are a lot of funny and cool people on the website, the posts are interesting, and overall it is a cool place. Also, when someone tells you about something they saw on the news, you can probably say, "I already read it on reddit." Ha ha, I know.

4. Agario agar.io

In Agario, you are a single, tiny, cell that goes around and eats little pellets of food on the map. The more you eat, the bigger you grow. There isn't really any objective, but a little personal goal of mine has been getting to #1 on the leaderboard (which currently I have done once). While you are doing this, there are thousands of other players doing the same thing, and the fastest way to #1 is by eating other players. One of my favorite things in this game are the creative names people come up with, like "kim jung un" shown in the picture. This game is also very fun with friends, I highly recommend it.

5. Staggeringbeauty.com staggeringbeauty.com (epilepsy warning)

In staggering beauty, you are a wobbly thing (I don't even know) with eyes. I'm not going to say anything else than shake your mouse around and make sure to turn your sound on, though you probably already know what is going to happen.

This is my last post ever, so I hope you have been having fun reading my posts and content. Thanks for staying with me this entire time, and if not, I don't care. I just hope you had some fun reading what I have had to say. Again,

Thanks for reading and have fun!

funny shark

so one day i went to the aquarium. i looked at the shark tank, and this is what i see: omgz~!!!1 it's a funny shark!!...

sorry, that's not the real post. but funny sharks r lyfe. u can't even......compare...
So, this is the last blog club of the year. :(:(:( NOOO. Well, there's next year..
I don't really have anything to write about. I haven't blogged in like 3 clubs, but blog club has still, nonetheless, been fun because lizardsnicksnape & subsonicpupet8 and I have just been talking (aka laughing about funny sharks and our people who are the rats and making weird jokes that only 0.1% of the population will get...and talking about anime, and Levi and and and. um. what was I saying again?) and I've been helping/watching along with some of their posts.
I guess, though, I'll just write about this past long weekend...
I went to NY this weekend, for the first time in quite a few months, and it was so fun. Walking down the streets of Queens, at late night, even with other people, is kinda just thrilling. Everyone is literally awake at all the hours of the day, and because of that, I was falling asleep on the train, in the car, and in restaurants. But really, walking around at night is like, a surreal experience, there are so many smells and the lights and everything, it feels like traveling around the world and seeing all these cultures just by walking around the streets. There is unique cultural cuisine everywhere, from Asian (from the usual to places you wouldn't even expect), to European, Spanish, Italian (of course, the pizza is bomb ๐Ÿ•) and just plain American.

I WILL MISS BLOG CLUB.

Why was that so long? What even. OK SORRY IM DONE NOW BYE

CrossbowPig Reviews Issue #9: The Game of the Year (Series Finale)

It Is Time.
Welcome to the Ninth and final issue of CrossbowPig Reviews. On our journey through games you can play on the internet for free, we have seen retro games ported to the computer and new games made just for the computer. We have seen two soccer games thus far, one of which is better than the other. We have seen Pac-Man, on a world wide scale. We have seen an MMORPG modelled after old games like The Legend of Zelda and games of D&D. Today, we will pick the Game of the Year.

But first, a few categories.

Best Local Multiplayer Experience: Tank Trouble
This game received a score of 8 on its own, and today it beats out the Soccer Duo to be the best of the local multiplayer experiences I have reviewed this year. Fast paced action in rapid fire randomized rounds will end some friendships faster than Mario Party. This game is explosive, and my friends and I still play it today.

Best Singleplayer Experience: Exit Path
Also sporting a multiplayer mode, though online only, this game is difficult. Very difficult. But sometimes, difficult things can be enticing and whetting of the appetite. Exit Path is one of those games. Coming in at a tall score of a 9, this game is one of the best I've ever played on the internet, period.

Best of the two Soccer Games: 1 on 1 Soccer
Due to the fact that this game has a far greater resemblance to actual soccer than World Cup Headers, this game takes the spot for Best Soccer Game. With a multiplayer score of a 7, this game has far more tense moments than the glorified volleyball simulator that is World Cup Headers.

AND FINALLY
THE GAME OF THE YEAR IS.........

The one, the only.
Realm of the Mad God
This game is so captivating that prior to writing the post I had roughly twenty hours of the game logged on Steam. With the most replay value, the longest production cycle and the most intricate system, there is no other competition for this game. It got an initial score of 9.75, the highest score I have ever awarded, and that proves why it deserves the spot.

Well, with that, I have fulfilled my run as RAUC Talk Game Reviewer and as a contributor to this website. I'm off to 9th grade at the high school, where I plan to probably play more video games. Probably.

Until our next journey, this is CrossbowPig, signing off.
