CrossbowPig Reviews Issue #8: World Cup Headers 2006

At last, we have arrived at the end of the blog club. Next week I will choose my game of the year to be my favorite that I have played this entire session. For now, we have but one single game left to review: World Cup Headers 2006.
Sort of like Game 6? Yes, sort of like Game 6.
Graphics: This game is very similar in many ways to 1 on 1 Soccer, but in the graphics department WCH'06 wins for sure. Unlike 1 on 1 Soccer, this game has an actual background to be seen, and also characters who vary in complexion and hair type. However, that's not to say that the graphics are very good at all, just that they are better than something that was average already. 6.5/10.

Gameplay: At a glance, this looks just like 1 on 1 Soccer. Two bobbleheaded representatives of various countries battle it out for supremacy by heading a soccer ball back and forth. However, here the goal is not to score in a soccer net, but to play Soccer Tennis by hitting the ball back and forth. You have three hits to get it to the other side before you are fouled and the other player gets a point. When the ball lands on the ground, the person that missed it loses and the other person gets a point. Gameplay is divided into two half of one minute and 30 seconds each. Two modes of gameplay exist, known as world cup mode (a tournament for up to 28 players) and International Friendly mode (a quick battle between two players). Sometimes the game can glitch, breaking the already shady immersion. 6.5/10.

Sound: Not much to be heard of at all. 3/10

Difficulty: This game is very easy to learn, but when you start playing against someone else who has won it gets into endless game territory. This game is Pretty Easy.

Verdict: With all of these scores carefully added up, and the factor of my own enjoyment added in, I give this game a
6 -  Above Average
This game is good for the first few minutes with a friend, and I want to see what an organized tournament would look like, but after a little while it gets stale. Even though it has its moments, this game makes me want to play 1 on 1 Soccer with friends. The computer player is fair enough to not warrant a split rating.

Next week I will choose the Game of the Year!
