Smash Bros. Direct: Reaction Post

So, the Smash Bros. Direct has come and gone, and a whole lot was announced about the next two Smash Bros. games. We learned that the two Smash games will be released at separate times, which was something that I didn't expect at all, but it's somewhat smart releasing the Wii U version around winter and the holiday season, to raise awareness. But that's the boring bit: let's get to the fun stuff.
Pokemon X and Y fans, you've been waiting for this.
First of all, Greninja: my brother and a few friends of mine thought he was Mewtwo when he was being shown in the trailer, but I was smart enough to recognize the water shuriken move that he was using. He looks like a pretty interesting character, and since I vowed to try every single new character, I guess I'll be playing as him. In other character related news, Zero Suit Samus and Shiek are now their own separate characters, as well as Charizard, although there is no news on the rest of the Pokemon Trainer trio returning. Yoshi is now in a upright standing position, which should be more than a bit interesting.

SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!!

Now, the stages. Final Destination was shown in several shots in the trailer, and looks like one of the most epic things to ever happen in a Nintendo game. Just look at that background! That's what I want to see when I'm fighting my favorite Nintendo characters between each other! In other Final Destination related news, almost every single stage is confirmed to have a Final Destination variant, which will have the looks of the stage you choose, but function like Final Destination. This will allow for more variation in online play. Speaking of online play...

For Glory for Me!
In the Wii U version of Smash Bros. 4, there will be two Online modes to play with anyone: For Fun, and For Glory. In For Fun mode, the stage will be set to random (no final destination) with only wins being recorded, all items, and only smash mode. In For Glory mode, the stage will be Final Destination (and other variants) only, with no items, a possibilty of 1 on 1 battles. All wins and losses will be recorded in this mode.

Other announcements, such as Assist Trophies and Pokeballs, are looking pretty good, and it seems that this Smash Bros. game is shaping up to be the best one yet. If only they came up with better title, I'd be sold on it. But I digress: this game looks like a blast to play, and I only wish it came out sooner!

Keep smashing!
